The Confirmation of Possession Proceedings document is a landlord and letting agent possession process resource available to eligible members of The Landlord Association (TLA). It is designed to help record, confirm or organise information relating to possession proceedings and the supporting tenancy file.
This document may be used where possession proceedings have been started, are being prepared, or have reached a formal stage. It helps landlords, letting agents and property managers keep a clear record of the possession process, relevant tenancy details, case status and supporting documentation.
It can support better evidence organisation by helping users track notices, correspondence, arrears records, breach evidence, court paperwork, hearing dates and other possession-related documents.
Use this document when a possession matter has moved beyond informal tenancy management and needs a clear formal record. It may be useful after a notice has been served, when court preparation begins, when proceedings are issued, or when possession-related documents need to be organised for review.
Possession matters can be affected by notice validity, evidence quality, service methods, court requirements and tenancy history. Where a matter is disputed, urgent or complex, members should consider taking legal advice before taking further action.

Possession proceedings should be handled carefully because errors in paperwork, evidence, service or court preparation can affect the next stage of the process. TLA members can use this resource to support a clearer possession file and prepare for further review where needed.
